Stragglers

It's so rainy and gloomy here, and believe it or not I'm sick AGAIN so all I want to do is wrap up in my snuggie (yes, I'm in a snuggie) on the couch and do nothing. But I did find some pictures from Texas that I didn't post (are you tired of my Texas posts yet? haha)

The End of the Road

barn star

yes, this is pretty much the same outfit I wore on the first day we were there (minus the top) but I figured that if I was going to be sitting in the backseat of a car for 5 hours I was going to wear something comfortable!

birthplace of texas

This was our last day in Chappell Hill... and the town was so quaint and decorated with all these scarecrows downtown. We spent 5 hours driving to my sister's house outside of Corpus Christi, and while driving we got caught in the worst storm my little California-self has ever been in. It was raining so hard that we couldn't see anything in front of us, I honestly thought we were driving right into a tornado. Thankfully we got out of it and arrived at my sister's house safely. We only got to spend a night at my sister's before we flew home, but I wish we could have stayed longer.

dolly and dallas bid us farewell

Dolly and Dallas watched us leave through the window. Poor pooches, I miss them :(

and just for fun my sister and I saw these shirts during a trip to Walmart and thought they were too good to pass up. The sad part is that I actually think she would trade me for candy.

will trade sister for candy

and speaking of my sister, you should go check out her blog for stuff about the trip I didn't post like the zapp hall show and our trip to the Bluebell factory and The Junk Gyspy Prom.

The day after we got to Texas we drove out to a town outside of Austin called Chappell Hill to a stay at the Southern Rose Ranch. It was my first time staying at a bed & breakfast, and it was such a great experience! It was so secluded and relaxing and there were cows and horses and chickens roaming around; We even got farm fresh eggs for breakfast one of the days! The whole place reminded me of my sister's wedding last year, when we stayed at a lodge on a farm outside of Waco, Tx. I wouldn't say I'm a country girl, but I definitely welcome a stay in the country every once in awhile. Its nice to feel like you're acutally "getting away" I would absolutely recommend a stay here to anyone thinking of visiting southern Texas!

October has begun

the orange and black has begun

IMG_2122

I landed in San Diego a mere 3 hours ago (two of those hours were spent driving home) but I'm really not as tired as I usually am after a day of flying, so I thought I'd post my outfit from my second day of my mini-vacay. I've been waiting all year for it to be October so I could wear black and orange outfits, and I've got various ones lined up throughout the month. But this is the first one. and boy was it exciting! This was taken at the bed & breakfast we stayed at and it was gorgeous! But more on that later. The important thing is is that I'm back in California! Did you miss me, Ca? Its okay if you didn't, Texas treated me well. Now it's back to my regular ho-hum life. wah wah.

Texas Day 1

The first real day in Texas was spent going to one of the fairs as Texas Antique Week. I didn't get anything except for a necklace (which deserves a post all it's own!) but I was content just walking around taking pictures of things that struck my fancy.

Whew. and that's just a fraction of the pictures. There will be more... You've been warned! But there were so many wonderful and creative things to see and look at... But right now I'm at my sister's house, so tired from our 5 hour drive today (seriously.) that all I want to do is have a nice long sleep. I can't believe this is my last night in Texas... these 4 days have gone by so fast. I'll be posting pictures from days 2 and 3 soon! Until then... night, ya'll!
