Fantastic Strapless

Strapless Love

010

I'm starting to think there isn't a Lauren Moffatt dress I don't like.

Dress: Lauren Moffatt via the Weardrobe Closet, Shoes: Steve Madden

One Necklace, Three Ways

Jersey Necklace one
(Dress: Ebay, Shoes: Alloy, Necklace: UO)

uo13
(Sweater: Ebay, Shorts: Ross, Shoes: Target, Necklace: UO)

Jersey Necklace three
uo16
(Dress: American Apparel, Shoes: Steve Madden, Necklace: UO)

Here is the second Urban Outfitters item from the Weardrobe Closet: The Jersey Necklace. I think the coolest thing about the necklace is that it's handmade from cut up shirts-- and no two necklaces are alike! How cool is that? It also had these really great black studs all over it. For someone who doesn't wear A LOT of jewelry (or even accessories, really) it really makes me realize how fun wearing stuff like this can be and how much it can really make an outfit.

My First Phillip

My first Phillip

I was so excited to snag this Phillip Lim top from the Weardrobe Closet. I love the multi-color silky material... and we all know how much I love fluttery sleeves. Perfection! I paired it with this high waisted mini skirt I got off ebay and my new yellow heels from Victoria's Secret.

Also! I was a guest blogger on my sister's adorable blog. I wrote about some of my favorite tips on thrifting and frugal finds, so go check it out and check out the rest of her blog for some ridiculously creative ideas!

one shirt, three ways.

Burnout tee one
(UO Tee, cut off shorts, Old Navy lace up sandals)

Burnout tee two
(UO tee worn as dress, thrifted belt, forever 21 sandals)

Burnout tee three
(UO tee, Target pants from little boy section, Steve Madden wedges)

Weardrobe sent me another package full of wonderful Urban Outfitter pieces, with the instructions to style it three different ways. The first piece was this burnout tee, which was so fantastic. It was huge, so it could literally be worn as a dress (and worn as a dress it was!) but could also be tucked in and you'd never know it's true size. The shoulders could be worn a gazillion different ways. The possibilities were endless, but I narrowed it down to these three outfits. My mom even asked after seeing the last outfit, "wait, were these all the same shirt?" Isn't great when you can wear the same thing over and over and make it look completely different? There were two other pieces, but I will save those for later... you don't want everything all at once, do you? :)

I love this spread from Marie Claire's July 2008 issue. The 1940's will always be my favorite fashion decade, and I love how they made modern looks from these classic pieces. Now all I need are short shorts, slinky dresses and loose fingerwaved hair and I will be good to go.

A New Batch of Goodies!

Ruffles!

Ruffles!

Ruffles!

My new Weardrobe package arrived the other day, and I was so excited to start putting together outfits. This Anthropologie ruffled top was one of the first items that caught my eye when first browsing the closet. I thought it was more of a cotton material in the picture, but realized it's actually a softer more flowy material which makes it even more dreamy. I thought this would be the perfect outfit to dust off my espadrilles for.

Mom's Birthday Lunch

lunch

Yesterday was my mom's birthday, and my sisters decided to put together a little outdoor spring lunch for her. My job was to get her out of the house, so we went to get pedicures (not a bad deal, I think) When we got home, the outdoor patio table had been transformed into this adorable birthday lunch, complete with croissant sandwiches, strawberry salad, fruit salad, and fresh lemonade with raspberry ice cubes. My sisters are incredibly more creative than I am, and you can find their blogs here and here. It was such a fun afternoon with the girls!

And in other news, I registered to run the Disneyland Half Marathon over Labor Day weekend. Am I crazy? Completely. I've never ran a half marathon (13.1 miles!) in my life! But I really want to see if I can do it. So starting tomorrow I will be training for a marathon! What am I getting myself into?

I'm swooning over this spread in this months Harper's Bazaar. Maybe it's the botantical setting, or the chic retro-inspired outfits, or maybe it's the fact that not everything is a gazillion dollars. You can look this fantastic without having everything hitting the triple digits. Music to my ears.

Back Roads and Solving Mysteries.

Back Roads

back roads

My sister and I decided to go explore some back roads today. We were actually looking for this old abandoned house my sister had taken a picture of a couple days ago, and thought she saw "something" on the porch when she uploaded the pictures. So we went back to check it out, turns out there was a statue on the porch, haha. Mystery solved, case closed. But it was still such a pretty day we decided to take some pictures. I just bought this le sac dress from American Apparel, and you can wear it countless amount of ways (which seems like such a great investment for someone on a budget!)-- I haven't experimented with it yet, so I'll let you know how it goes. If anyone else has this dress, suggestions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
