Dutch historian Jo Teeuswisse created these haunting photos called "Ghosts of History" by taking the negatives of World War II photos and overlapping them with the same modern day location. It gives me chills just looking at them. Whenever I think of war I always envision it being fought in some battlefield far away, it seems surreal to see pictures of soldiers walking down city streets with buildings turned to rubble.
