Some new (to me) vintage books I recently acquired. A 1961 collection of children's stories, a 1938 collection of stories about adventure, travels and explorers and 1953 hardcover copies of The Great Gatsby and A Farewell to Arms. I think these will look quite dapper on my bookcase, dontchathink?

  1. I think I have almost the exact same set of Children's Classics from the 1960s but they are in much, much worse shape. I think they were purchased for my uncle, who was born in 1965. I love these books and read them all myself. I hope my own children love them too.

  2. Bri, these books were left in the garage of a house my sister and brother-in-law recently purchased. I don't know when exactly they purchased them, but other than cracking in the crease between the spine and the cover, and Tom Sawyer's spine falling off completely, they're in pretty decent shape. I'm ashamed to admit I haven't read any of them (except Tom Sawyer in school and I don't really remember paying attention haha) but I can't wait to read them!
