Skirt: made by me (via burdastyle pattern)
Top/Shoes: Target
Sweater: Ross
I whipped this skirt up the other night (as a novice seamstress, I've always wanted to say that.) But really, this is probably the easiest article of clothing I've ever made. For some reason I've been in such a creative sewing mood lately... I've gotten a surge of ambition, I suppose, and finally want to start making my clothes. Because who doesn't love the expression on people's faces when they ask where you got something and you get to answer back, "oh, I made it"? I know I do.
Love the skirt! I just cut out the pattern to my first skirt tonight. Hopefully it will get done this week (my sewing machine isn't even set up yet! :D).
ReplyDeleteit looks so pretty! Your shoes reminded me of a pair from target I had a while back but were yellow. I had to throw them away cause I wore them too much! Im going to try to find a new pair now on ebay!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the shoes, LOVE the skirt!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this outfit. Every single thing. You can never go wrong with black and white, and the added green is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteMake me a skirt, too? ;-)
Have a great weekend!
There is just something about polka dots and a really bright color...
ReplyDeleteAnd I know what you mean about making your own clothes. I need to get my lazy butt moving on learning how to sew (I've only had my "new" sewing machine for 2 years and it's still basically unused)...

ReplyDeleteYour skirt is extremely cute! I'm very impressed - it looks quite professional.
ReplyDeleteI've also decided to blog about learning to sew my own clothing. I look forward to hearing about your experiences with DIY fashion - it's tricky when you're first starting out. What's wonderful is that there is a whole online community devoted to sharing information about making clothes. If you are interested, you can read about my sewing escapades at my blog: chromatophorestudios.com.
I'll definitely follow yours to pick up ideas and inspiration!
