It might just be because I'm a bookworm, but I'm loving these shirts by Out Of Print of classic book covers that are, well, out of print. And to make it even better: for every shirt bought one book is donated to a community in need through Books For Africa. I'm thinking the "On The Road" shirt would make a perfect birthday present for my brother (and perhaps "Tales of The Jazz Age" for me). What book would you wear on a shirt?

On Golden Pond
Today lunch was spent on the pond, feeding ducks and watching kids rolling down grassy hills. Oh and there was a photo shoot, hahah. I had to try out my new lens. Absolutely. Love. It. And I only speak in incomplete sentences when I'm serious. I think it's completely night and day to my other pictures. but that's just me, I might be bias because I paid money for it. Whatever. It's awesome.

Ketchup
As you may or may not have noticed (we'll just pretend that you have), I haven't been on the up and up with the blog. Many apologies. My sister and brother-in-law moved back to California from Texas last week and have been staying with us during their transition into their new house. So I've tagged along with them quite a bit.
Food has been involved quite a bit. There really is no better place than Panera Bread. And their broccoli cheddar bread bowls... so good.
Did I mention the pastries?
And the ice cream! We decided to get ice cream and THIS is what they gave us. Can you fit anymore ice cream onto a cone? It was honestly the biggest swirl of ice cream I'd ever seen.
I tried paying them back for said ice cream, but they were being stubborn and not taking my money. I figured that maybe if I folded my dollar into a duck they might reconsider, but to no avail. But be warned, the dollar duck will show up when you least expect it.
Also last week was both my Dad's and nephew's birthday! This is the birthday bag I got my dad.
And these are the mini-chocolate bunt cakes my mom and sister made for my nephew's party. so so good.
Jon and Jarred being twins.
My dad in the jolly jumper. seriously.
Jennifer and I decided to pose for a little photo op with some party props. Can we pull off being Nascar drivers? No? okay.
So now you're caught up to speed with what has caused my hiatus for the past week. Now that's out of the way... back to our regularly scheduled blog posts!
It's good to be back!

Just Another Wednesday
The wind was so strong, it made my hair give me a mustache.
Sometimes, late at night I will go through my closet out of boredom and put together different outfits. So today while I was getting ready I was completely stumped as to what I should wear until I remembered that a couple weeks ago I picked out this outfit in one of my late night dress-up escapades. Sometimes, insomnia pays off.

Happy First Day of Spring!
Today is officially the first day of spring! I. Am. So. Excited. It has been ridiculously beautiful here in Southern California (sorry everyone still having winter weather) and I know it's going to get even more so now. This picture was taken two years ago, when all the poppies were popping up (pun intended) like crazy all over the place. It may look similar to the photos in my header, and that's because it is. They were all taken on the same day. I'm starting to see poppies again already! I might need to venture out for another photo op. Oh spring, you make me so happy.

Coco cabana
I love this shirt even though I don't wear it nearly enough. It reminds me of a costume from the Coco cabana, or something that requires me to wear a hat full of fruit. I wasn't really having the best day, it was just one of those 'blah' days where I was throwing a pity party for myself. So the shirt kind of cheered me up a little bit and I went to go get a pedicure and a fill thinking some pampering would do some good but I think the nail lady was mad at me for an unknown reason and took it out on my cuticles. They require some major TLC... or at least some neosporin. Sigh. Hopefully tomorrow's a better day.

Prints with all the colors of the wind
Today was such a beautiful, sunny day. Except it was really windy, hence why I'm holding my bangs back in each picture. I love the wind, until it starts swirling my hair all around. Even so, I had to take advantage of such wonderful weather. The only thing I like about this time change is that it stays light out so much longer, therefore I have more time to take pictures. Hopefully this means more outdoor pictures and less hallway photos!
Also, did you see that I'm wearing THREE different prints in my outfit? Daredevil, I know. I'm wearing gingham shoes, a striped shirt and a floral sweater. Maybe next time I'll add some argyle socks.

Everyone's Irish on March 17th
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
How will you be celebrating? Drinking a pint of Guinness? Watching The Quiet Man? Reading some James Joyce? Listening to U2 all day? I will be working, but I will also be hard at work pinching everyone that is not wearing green. Or is that not acceptable outside of an elementary school recess?

Cool Hand Quaintrelle
I wore this to see Cool Hand Luke in the theatre... a blazer and scarf were probably not the best choice to wear during the day, as you can see how sunny it was... but I quickly patted myself on the back when I walked out of the theatre and it was freezing out. Thank you scarf and blazer, for sticking it out and doing your job. And fun fact about these shoes: they were the shoes I wore to my junior prom.

Intramix Vintage
Intramix Vintage Clothing is a small fund-raising effort ran by The Booniez Crew, a local independent dance team. All the money raised from clothing sales goes directly to support their team funding. My friend Stacey, who is one of the members, asked if I'd be interested in styling up some of their vintage pieces... and I couldn't pass up the offer. I tried styling each piece a couple different ways:

I had such a fun time putting together outfits around these pieces... and this is just a fraction of what they have for sale (they have a guy's section too!) So go check 'em out, they're super affordable and for a great cause! Thanks, Intramix!
