Thanks, DeBran for this fabulous coat!!
I had so much fun with the last Closet Collection, that I decided to find another collection to try to emulate. This time it was 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2008 RTW. I know that none of the outfits are going to be completely spot-on, but remember that everything I'm wearing is out of my own closet, so I had to improvise. I just like to see if I could make an inspired-by collection from my own clothes to give myself new ideas of how to remix and re-wear old clothes.
I really loved the basic, neutral colors of this collection... the blues, grays, whites and blacks. Also the feminine feel of masculine pieces. Even though it may not be this seasons "looks" I think they're still very stylish and relevant. What do you think? Are these wearable for everyday? Which ones are the best? I think #4 and #6 are my favorite, and might have to give those a run out in the real world.
Any suggestions for the next collection?
Gorgeous :) You did such a fantastic job!
ReplyDeletefabulous. Keep 'em coming!

I really liked a lot of these looks and think they're a lot more wearable than the runway collection. I think you could make just about any of them work IRL especially if you didn't roll your hems or tuck flowy pants into boots.
ReplyDeleteI love this feature... the last outfit is gorgeous! I think they are all wearable in real life - you pull them all off wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteFANTASTIC interpretation of each look - I can't believe how great all these outfits are and all with items from your closet. Great job!

The last time you did this I thought it was awesome. Glad to see you tried it again! I am really impressed. Most of those looks on the runway I wouldn't think you could pull off IRL, but when I see your interpretation, they just look awesome! Great job. I love the last one.
ReplyDeleteYou're an inspiration! Thanks for demonstrating how to bridge the fantasy of the runway with the fantastic possibilities hiding in one's closet!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
I am very impressed with your "Closet Collections." It's inspiring!

If I were passing through town, I would lend you the perfect hat for that last look. Brilliant applications of runway to real way.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great idea!!! And you did an *excellent* job!

ReplyDeleteThis is so great! Love your interpretations of the runway looks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea! I especially love the last jacket and the fact that it is longer than your underlayer. Very chic!!
ReplyDeleteYou are great at this!! I need you to come and do that in my closet! :)
ReplyDeleteJust popped over to say hi from 365 Truth... and I am impressed! You did a great job emulating each style. Numbers 8 is my favorite (love the coat!), then 6, then 4. But they all look rockin'.
ReplyDeleteWow..I love them all..I'm thinking you definatly pull off all of the looks!
ReplyDeletefantastic outfits! you look tres chic in every one of them!

I think everyone loves the last photo best is because we can actually see your rockin' body! The photos just seem more bulky than the "Runway" looks and your beautiful long legs are cut short by rolling your cuffs. I really DON'T mean to criticize!! You're style is great, I do the same thing, I tear out pictures from GLAMOUR and go to my closet to emulate. I'm a size 14 so I buy everything in lightweight fabrics so I can layer w/o appearing too big.
ReplyDeleteJust checked out your blog, you are soooooo adorable and VERY talented!
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing! i love your interpretations of the outfits and all these outfits work really nicely in real life, i especially love the last outfit
ReplyDeleteI think this is incredible and you should make from runway to hallway a running feature on your blog or you could do your own interpretation of deisgner clothes and make it a weekly feature, just an idea :)
