When my mom saw this outfit she asked me if I just got off a motorcycle haha.
All the pictures I took of this outfit came out blurry. I was super bummed because by the time I figured out what was making them blurry, the sun was gone. Oh well, you can get the idea of the outfit. I just wanted to show off my new haircut (it's more choppy and layered as opposed to the blunt bob I've had for the last year) and my new shoes that I talked about a couple posts ago:

shoes

I loooove them.

I also painted my nails:

I painted them black and then did the second coat with OPI's Kinky in Helsinki. I love how it comes out, it's like a black with a dark purple tint. I really want to try the black base with other colors like reds and blue. As much as I love summer and the hot pink and neon nailpolishes that come with it, I'm a sucker for dark nails.

Chills and Thrills

I'm so excited for Halloween! A couple years ago I bought
The Little Big Book of Thrills and Chills. It's has all kinds of different ghost stories, magic tricks, legends, spells and tons of vintage halloween pictures. I'm going to try and post some throughout the month to get my blog a little more festive with some ghosts and goblins hanging around. (cue scary music and rolling fog)

The day after we got to Texas we drove out to a town outside of Austin called Chappell Hill to a stay at the Southern Rose Ranch. It was my first time staying at a bed & breakfast, and it was such a great experience! It was so secluded and relaxing and there were cows and horses and chickens roaming around; We even got farm fresh eggs for breakfast one of the days! The whole place reminded me of my sister's wedding last year, when we stayed at a lodge on a farm outside of Waco, Tx. I wouldn't say I'm a country girl, but I definitely welcome a stay in the country every once in awhile. Its nice to feel like you're acutally "getting away" I would absolutely recommend a stay here to anyone thinking of visiting southern Texas!

October has begun

the orange and black has begun

IMG_2122

I landed in San Diego a mere 3 hours ago (two of those hours were spent driving home) but I'm really not as tired as I usually am after a day of flying, so I thought I'd post my outfit from my second day of my mini-vacay. I've been waiting all year for it to be October so I could wear black and orange outfits, and I've got various ones lined up throughout the month. But this is the first one. and boy was it exciting! This was taken at the bed & breakfast we stayed at and it was gorgeous! But more on that later. The important thing is is that I'm back in California! Did you miss me, Ca? Its okay if you didn't, Texas treated me well. Now it's back to my regular ho-hum life. wah wah.

Texas Day 1

The first real day in Texas was spent going to one of the fairs as Texas Antique Week. I didn't get anything except for a necklace (which deserves a post all it's own!) but I was content just walking around taking pictures of things that struck my fancy.

Whew. and that's just a fraction of the pictures. There will be more... You've been warned! But there were so many wonderful and creative things to see and look at... But right now I'm at my sister's house, so tired from our 5 hour drive today (seriously.) that all I want to do is have a nice long sleep. I can't believe this is my last night in Texas... these 4 days have gone by so fast. I'll be posting pictures from days 2 and 3 soon! Until then... night, ya'll!

Antiquing it up!

Day 1 in Texas was spent at the antique fair where I got to take my new Lauren Conrad jeans for a spin.

Hello, Texas!

So I made it to Texas! My mom and I flew into San Antonio last night where my sister picked us up and we drove to Austin. We're currently at a bed and breakfast somewhere outside of Austin. Today was spent at one of the antique fairs, and to be honest... I'm pooped. So I'm just going to post a couple pictures from the flight here, and then I'm off to bed! But just for fun, I decided to do a whats-in-my-carry-on-bag:

carry on
and inside my bag was: My laptop, some magazines, On The Road, a scarf, my netflix and also Sex and the City and Amelie (I like variety, ok?) and some powerbars. Not too exciting, but it kept me busy. Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!
