Summer Scarf

summer scarf

I know some people may look at me crazy when I walk around in this Southern California heat wearing a scarf around my neck. Oxymoron, I know. But it's no more of an oxymoron than wearing a jean skirt and uggs, so I think I'm safe. Plus, the scarf is pretty lightweight, and who could resist this pop of color? Not I, apparently. You will be seeing this scarf popping up more often, I'm sure of it.

Lauren Moffatt Dress

My last Weardrobe Closet goodie was this Lauren Moffatt dress. It was uh-mazing! It was so good it needed a 360 degree shot. It fit like a glove, the details were perfect and the butterfly sleeves were ridiculously cute. I actually went so far as to look this dress up to see if I could add it to my wardrobe permantely, but it runs close to $400. so I will sadly bid it a fond farewell, and remember the good times we had together.

The third piece in my Weardrobe closet package was this plaid dress from Anthropologie. I absolutely love it. Everything from the ruffled collar to the pockets in the front, it's perfect. I could spend the rest of my spring days in this dress! So I thought I'd stage a little Anthropologie catalog-inspired shoot to make this dress feel at home and in hopes of doing this dress justice.

When in Rome...

when in Rome, wear a bib necklace
552
necklace

Not that I'm really in Rome. Obviously, I'm in my backyard... but the top reminds me of a toga. Now that that's cleared up... this Urban Outfitters bib necklace was also included in my Weardrobe closet package. I probably wouldn't have ever looked at this necklace in real life and thought I could pull it off, but that's whats so great about being able to borrow things-- you can try things you normally never would. It's such a statement piece, I ended up planning the whole outfit around the necklace. It was really fun to wear, and be able to step out of my comfort zone, jewelry-wise, at least.

The Top That Was a Skirt

the top that was a skirt

This top was sent to me as one of my "borrowed items" from the weardrobe closet. It was actually intended to be a skirt, but I decided to try it out as a top. Brings a whole new meaning to "It's not what you wear, it's how you wear it", eh?
