In keeping with the theme of all this wedding madness, here is another set of the mock wedding shoot I did with Vintique Photo. And not to toot my own horn, but who wore lace sleeves first? That's right, my grandma did. and then me. and then Catherine, Duchess of Adorableland. I'm totally kidding, she couldn't have been more gorgeous, and now I actually do want a wedding dress with lace sleeves. Could she BE anymore of a Grace Kelly reincarnation? (said in my best Chandler Bing voice) You can see the other wedding and engagement sessions here, here, and oh here too!

Shirt/shoes: Target Jeans: Forever 21 Lipstick:Covergirl in Fairytale
Yesterday was my 24th birthday. I really didn't have anything planned nor did I want to do anything super extravagant. I feel like I've reached that age where you look forward to your birthday because you get to ask for practical things you could actually use. Like a desk chair and a computer mouse. Which is fantastic, by the way. My dad took me out to lunch, but other than that it was a pretty quiet day. Just like I like it.

Some of you asked how I did my hair in the everyday makeup tutorial, and you're in luck! I filmed a tutorial on how you can achieve big wavy Victoria's Secret-esque hair! Enjoy!
P.s. I promise I will stop saying "um" so much one of these days!

The other day I saw the new People magazine with Catherine Zeta-Jones on the cover, with the caption "I'm not ashamed, battling bipolar disorder" I was completely taken aback, Catherine Zeta-Jones has bipolar disorder?! But she's so pretty and put together! Then I had to quickly snap at myself, you of all people should not be judging people's struggles based on their appearance or facade of "looking put together" and my tone quickly changed to, "Catherine Zeta-Jones has bipolar disorder." But this time, with relief; Catherine Zeta-Jones, beautiful and put together, also struggles with something. I felt compelled to buy the magazine to read the article. I don't have bipolar disorder, nor do I know what it's like to have bipolar disorder, but I do know what it's like to live with a very debilitating condition. If you read some posts back you know that I have panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Now I know one is a mental illness (bipolar) and one is a behavioral condition (anxiety), though some could argue anxiety is a mental illness as well, but both are similar in the sense that they can both be life-altering and they both come with negative stigmas attached to them.
Movie: Almost Famous (2000)
Costume Designer: Betsy Heimann (Pulp Fiction, Vanilla Sky, The Ugly Truth)
For all of us who did not experience hanging out with rock stars during the 60's and 70's, we are forced to live vicariously through Almost Famous. Not that it's a terrible thing to live through. Penny Lane (Emily Rugburn, Lady Goodman... whatever you want to call her) is a most excellent tour guide to our hippie band-aid fantasies. Not only does Kate Hudson already possess a free-spirit vibe, but Betsy Heimann creates signature looks like crop tops and the shearling coat that just scream "I'm with the band." With summer creeping up and music festivals, beach trips, picnics in the parks, pool parties and everything else that summer entails, it's the perfect time to have your own Penny Lane boho band-aid moment, sans singing "Tiny Dancer" on a tour bus full of men in the middle of nowhere (unless you're planning on doing just that, and in that case, party on, Garth). So pull out your lacy crop tops, cut off Levi's, crochet vest and fringe messenger bag and give me a call. Because it ain't California without you. I'm under the name "Harry Houdini."

How awesome would it be if William and Kate actually did this? (Harry FTW, by the way.)
The perfect house slippers for a lazy spring day.
I want this kitchen.
Did you know I dressed up as the Easter Bunny? It was really fun, but I'm thinking of trying something different next year.
My sister sent me an email of an article about a cat that mysteriously showed up on Governor's Island that they think swam across the New York Harbor. The cat in the photo looks IDENTICAL to our cat that went missing years ago. I wonder if she made it all the way to New York...
"You just won the Copa del Rey trophy! What are you going to do now?!" I'm going to drop it and then have a bus run over it! Tough luck.
Happy Easter, everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

"Then there came a faraway, booming voice like a low, clear bell. It came from the center of the bowl and down the great sides to the ground and then bounced toward her eagerly, 'you see, I am fate,' it shouted, 'and stronger than your puny plans; and I am how-things-turn-out and I am different from your little dreams, and I am the flight of time and the end of beauty and unfulfilled desire; all the accidents and imperceptions and the little minutes that shape the crucial hours are mine. I am the exception that proves no rules, the limits of your controls, the condiment in the dish of life.'"
--F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Cut-Glass Bowl
