Things From Around the Web

Pictures like this make my heart flutter.

How cute are these felted bows?

This was pretty much me on Thanksgiving.

I can't even do with one hand what this guy does with both at the same time AND upside down.

Finally, my thing for dead old men has been justified.

You never really think how much mustaches really make a difference.

Perhaps my favorite quote of any Christmas movie ever, well... right behind this one.

It's the time of the year when I remember how true this is.

I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday weekend!

Giving Thanks

Dress: Marshall's
Shirt: Vintage
Boots: Old Navy

This is what I wore for Thanksgiving. I knew that I was going to wear a dress, because I needed the maximum amount of room in my clothes to eat the vast amounts of food I was in store for, and this did the trick. In hindsight, I probably wouldn't have worn such a short dress, and in the future will more than likely wear it with tights or leggings. Unfortunately, I didn't have any of those that matched this shirt. (insert the "a watch doesn't really go with this outfit, daddy" quote from Clueless here)

All in all, my Thanksgiving was great. I woke up unusually early (I woke up like a kid on Christmas morning knowing I was going to be getting stuffing and sweet potatoes), helped my mom cook and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade for the first time in my life. Then I ate a fantastically tasty meal with my family. I couldn't have asked for a better day. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!

I'm having quite an obsession with gold nails lately. They can be called by numerous names: Fort Knox nails, Goldschläger digits, Sutter's Mill nails, The Liberaces, Pyrite Pointers,The King Midas Curse, The nails to El Dorado, Fool's Gold fingers, etc. I think you get the idea.
So here are some suggestions on how, you too, can be the Girl with the Golden Touch.

All of these holiday looks from Marie Claire are so gorgeous. Especially the gold eyes and hot pink lips. I need to add that on my list of makeup-ideas-to-try.

Russian Red

Russian Red

Dress: Target
Jacket: Gap
Fur Stole: Vintage
Boots: c/o Wanted

I was in the market for some really red lipstick. I've always shied away from red lipstick because I just thought I looked ridiculous and couldn't pull it off, but my darker hair is giving me a bit more confidence so I thought I'd try it again. I've heard that MAC's lipstick in Russian Red is the Holy Grail of red lipsticks, so I thought I'd try that one out first. As soon as I put it on, I fell in love. It's such a perfect shade, and it goes on heavenly. I definitely think I'm a new red lip convert.

Things From Around the Web

How genius is this secret fridge?

So digging the Hunting Season trend.

A real life UP house!

Awesomely hilarious bandages.

Omg! I've found a new way to take my outfit pictures.

A note to Halloween vandals, complete with alternative activities to participate in. My favorites are "Start an Emo band" and "Find your real father."

A guide on how to be a Star Fashion Blogger. I'm so guilty of the "What am I wearing?" pose.

A Site To See

golden nails
I love gooooooold.

I love my dogs. Sometimes I think they really add that... je ne sais quoi to my pictures. But today was a different story. It's one thing that Charlie was hogging the focal point and forcing me to be pushed off to the side; but it wasn't until I uploaded the pictures and started editing them that I realized my dog was peeing in the background of 99% of them. I think he might still be going in the first picture, I can't tell... but I felt it was discreet enough to post. Maybe this can double as a National Geographic post? Dogs in their natural habitat? No? Okay. eh, tis life.

Cowboys and Indians

moccasins

My Happy feet:

Remember the Great Moccasin Dilemma of 2010? Well, I finally decided on a pair and here they are! I got the Minnetonka classic brown ankle boot with fringe, and I took your guys' advice and got them in hardsoles so I can wear them outside and not have them get all thrashed up. I'm super excited to have these, I kind of want them in black too... but for now I'm just going to try and come up with different outfits I can wear them with. Any suggestions?!

Shirt/Pants: Target
Shoes: Minnetonka via QVC (the only place I could find these in hardsoles. crazy, right?)
