First Vlog and Target Haul!

My first vlog! (don't you love the freeze frame shot? haha) I've been really wanting to do a video blog for awhile, and I finally got around to doing one... even though it almost didn't happen. I did this video Saturday night and just now got it to work. It was an absolute nightmare! It wouldn't work and it was driving me BANANAS! So finally I decided to try it on my mom's mac and it worked! Yay! Sorry it's kind of long, I apparently like to blabber. Also, sorry it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel... note for next time: turn off my fan. Oh, and I guess I say "super" a lot? Did not know that until I watched it back, haha. Oh and it goes out of focus towards the end. Again, sorry. I definitely have a mental list of things I need to fix and be aware of next time. Anyway, despite all that... let me know what you think... if this should be a regular thing on Le Quaintrelle or not. I'm still kind of undecided about it.

Things mentioned in the video:
Oil of Olay night cream (which I'm loving, by the way)
L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum
OPI nailpolish in Read My Palm
Betsey Johnson Bow Earrings

I can't find any of the jewelry on Target's website. =/ Sorry.

So if you made it through the whole video THANK YOU! I hope it wasn't too boring! and let me know ideas for the next one!

  2. Great video- and I watched all of it! I would suggest more videos like this post-shopping where you show off your finds! I always make my friends show me all the details if they tell me they've gone shopping! haha. To keep your viewers interested, I might suggest to set a timer, or keep your eye on the clock, and try and keep your videos to 5 min or less (unless they do require more time to finish). You did a great job, it'll flow better when with more practice I'm sure! I'd be the same way...these vlogs are getting popular...I may even have to try them some day!

  3. Thanks for the feedback, Chelsea! I definitely don't want all my videos to be 10 minutes long, so setting a time is a good idea. As you can probably tell from the video, I kind of space out a lot and forget my train of thought hahah. I think once I get more comfortable talking to a camera by myself in my room then it will go faster. Thanks for watching it and for the advice!

  4. Sadly, I use a computer that is old and decrepted and does not allow me to see videos. Boo. If you continue to do videos, could you also summerize them for us lowtech gals? thanks

  5. Okay, first of all you are cute as a button (said in my best "Mom" voice!). Second, I loved your video and especially love seeing what you got at Target. Definitely need to do that again. Loved seeing the jewelry and the far-off shots focussed better than up close. But of course, you probably caught that. Normally I skim over beauty product posts, but seeing you hold the product and talk about it was way more interesting and kept my attention. I thought you did a great job for your first time and agree with you that it will go smoother as you get more comfortable in front of the camera. Watch out for those "um"s and keep up the great work. BTW, you have very nice teeth!

  6. Thank you so much for the comment, Monica! I did notice that my camera wasn't focusing on the close up shots... I'll have to figure out how to change that. And I know I say "um" way too much... I definitely have to be more conscious of that, haha. I hope being more comfortable in front of the camera will help me not lose my train of thought. and thank you for the compliment on my teeth, haha... I must thank vast orthodontia work for that! :D

I have never thought that you would sound like this (I mean in a good way) cause I see you so different in your pictures. I love it you should do more, I want to know something though, those earrings you are wearing they are so beautiful where are they from??? I love your nail color too really pretty. I am looking forward to more vlogs.

  10. You totally remind me of Brittany Spears (from her good days haha). I like the video, it's always fun to get a "real life" feel for what my favorite bloggers are like. I agree with the previous comments on focus, timing etc. But it was a really fun video... def. wouldn't mind seeing more of them!

  11. Leah, I used to get the Britney Spears thing all the time! and then she kind of went crazy and people stopped telling me I looked like her haha. But I always take it as a compliment because I thought she was gorgeous back in her hey day :)

  12. Well, if i didn't already want to be your best friend... then I definitely do now! (not in a crazy psycho way- just in a I think we have a lot in common and love shopping and your style- kind of way.) love the video blog- I do travel videos on my travel site and it took about three of them to get the hang of it and feel really comfortable talking on camera- but you did great!
If you're ever in L.A. maybe we can go shopping together!

  13. haha, Jade, you're so sweet! Hopefully a couple more tries and I'll be more comfortable in front of the camera. And I only live a couple hours from LA, so if I'm ever there we should definitely go shopping!

  14. I must say you did a great job! Practice makes perfect of course- so in time, I'm sure you'll work out all the kinks. It's so interesting how now after watching your vlog I completely understand your creativity when it comes to your clothes.

Things I'd like to see in future volgs: Organization, how do you keep things organized, clohtes, Jewlery shoes? what's your secret? Also, a quick guide to accessorizing outfits? Key things to keep in mind and how NOT to go overboard.

By the way, my dermatologist told me that the area below our eyes is senstive to basically everything but alot of times she said its also lack of blood circulation. So she recommended every morning to massage those muslces below your eyes in a circular motion and use vitiamin K cream, which you can find at Target for less than $10. I made it part of my skin care for about a month and slowly noticed a difference.

    Hope this helps!
